Matchbox Cartonnage Class - Sunday Sept 27th at 2pm

Learn the French art of cartonnage or "box making," tailored specifically for needlepoint! In this 4-hour class, you will learn how to finish a needlepoint canvas into a matchbox using cartonnage. No prior finishing experience is necessary!

You’ll leave the class with a completely finished matchbox and the knowledge to finish countless more on your own!

What you'll need to bring:

-A stitched and blocked needlepoint matchbox canvas. (I.e. the matchbox canvases from Spruce Street)

-A photocopy of your canvas

-Completed cording in the colors of your choosing. (If you do not know how to make cording, it can be purchased online via Etsy prior to class.)

All other materials and tools will be provided.

This class will be held from 2pm until 6pm, in-person at Rita’s Needlepoint, 303 E 81^st Street in New York.
