Established in 1973
Rita Klein, a Paris educated artist and designer, founded Rita's needlepoint in NYC in 1973. Her lifelong commitment to fiber arts led her from Eastern Europe to Paris, then to New York City. The shop has had several locations through the years, all within the Upper East Side.
Rita retired in 2019 at age 88. We are thankful for her hard work and dedication to her craft. Generations of stitchers have learned to needlepoint at her hand!
